(The background photo was taken in my extra bedroom electronics shop and shows a remote test I was involved in. The laptop in my shop is connected to another laptop in Poway, which is running an emergency stop test. In this test, the DC/DC converters under evaluation ramp up to 100 kW, the emergency stop circuit deactivates power, and then the process repeats for 36,000 cycles. The oscilloscope is being videoed by a webcam, displaying voltage and current waveforms. The monitor on the right shows the Python program that is sending commands to the converters. The emergency stop circuit is controlled by a Teensy 4.1 Arduino-type board using Firmata to receive serial commands from Python. Given that 36,000 cycles are required, with a minimum loop time of 10 seconds, the ability to monitor and debug was crucial.)
